Lion's Head from Signal Hill

I had come to visit Cape Town in 2023 after my solo exhibition in the south of France and I was eager to keep up my plein-air-painting practices.

I put a message in my instagram stories asking if anyone had an outdoor easel they could rent to me and my friend Matt brought it to me the following morning. It was complete synchronicity that made it all happen.

The following morning I drove to Signal Hill in Cape Town at sunrise and found my spot away from the tourists - nestles amongst the bushes.

If I remember correctly this little original was sold at Chandler’s House to a Belgian couple.

I hope to do this again some time soon.
